Initiative for Development and Cooperation

Association of citizens Initiative for Development and Cooperation  (IDC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the social and economic inclusion of vulnerable groups and the protection of their human rights. IDC is formally registered in 2007 as a 'spin-off' of Movimiento por la Paz (MPDL), where the founders of the IDC actively worked from 2002 to 2007.

IDC activities are oriented towards building cohesive and resilient communities. Through its project, IDC has contributed to the closure of two collective centers in Serbia through the provision of durable housing solutions. We have provided over 200 housing solutions for vulnerable families belonging to refugee, internally displaced, returnee or flood-affected population. 1200 persons, mostly IDPs and refugees received free legal aid by 2011. IDC educated and employed more than 2000 persons, mostly from refugee, IDP and returnee population.

Over the years IDC has been actively involved in promoting the social economy concept through the establishment of social enterprises but also participates in advocacy and lobbying processes to create a favorable legal environment. Through our projects, two social enterprises have been established. Both of them are active and sustainable, providing a source of income for over 30 individuals.

IDC has a large network of volunteers, associates and friends of the association.
